உன் பாதங்கள் வெகு தூரம் செல்லும்,
உன் காதுகளை மீறி எந்த சத்தம் செல்லும,
நீ காட்டில் நடந்து வரும் ஓசை என் நெஞ்சை குளிர் அடைக்க செய்யும்,
மனிதன் ஒரு கோழை , உன் காட்டை அழித்து விட்டு, உன் பெருமையையும் பறித்து விட்டான்,
நீ தனியாக உன் காட்டிற்கு போராடினாய்,
உன் தோழர்கள் உன் கண் முன்னால் அழிந்தார்கள்,
மனிதன் உனக்கு உதவியாக இருப்பானா என்று எனக்கு தெரியாது,
நீ போராடு , உன் வெற்றி வெகு தூரம் இல்லை,
மனிதன் உன் மதிப்பை உணருவான், உன் நெஞ்சை அறிந்துகொண்டு உன் கரங்களில் சரணடைவான்!
Your feet have travelled far,
Is there any noise that goes past your ears?
The sound of you walking in the forest makes my heart quiver,
Man is a coward, he destroyed your forest, your pride!
You fought your battle alone,
Watched your friends perish before your eyes,
I don’t know if man will ever help you,
You keep fighting, your victory is not far away,
Someday he will know your value, know your heart, and surrender in your arms!
Here is a recent article about how elephants have moved to high steep mountains in search of food. A few organizations such as NCF , CWS and WTI work towards avoiding conflict between humans and elephants. But the real change happens when everyone cares for their environment rather than hoping someone else will always take care of it.
